There are a lot of people rating this game bad due to technical issues and graphics. As I do not care about graphics at all (the best RPGs are from the 80s and 90s without good graphics) I will not take this into my rating. The way the fights are done could clearly be improved for the next ELEX, but that's all about the negative aspects. The story is extraordinaryly amazing, the voices are professional, the quests and items make addictive, the world is breath-taking. I played through this game for 60 hours non-stop and I was sitting in front of the screen saying "What the f**k?", "That is AWESOME." and "Wow." due to the story and the changes within it. If you prefer story-telling above stupid hack'n'slay you should clearly go for this game!
I never played the Gothic trilogy, but a lot of other RPGs. I can just say that this game is great, also compared to the other two episodes. I love the setting, the fighting system (with a lot of patience and strategy you can fight much better enemies even with low skills), the whole gameplay and the story. I really have no negative point about this game (besides the shadow world). It is absolutely awesome.
