The only way I can recommend even bothering to try this is by playing as a low IQ/INT moron, just so you don't have to try to take seriously this ridiculous world building, characters and ultimately whole game. BUT ONLY IF you enjoy pissing NPCs off by picking special low INT dialogue options in other Obsidian/Black Isle games or similar. There is even a special ending (although very short) with a cutscene for special characters like yours. :) PS Murder on Eridanos DLC fits quite well into this “play style”, whereas the other DLC is quite a chore, being more fighting oriented.

Dear developers of BAFTA-winning Lumino City, BAFTA-nominated KAMI 2 and Apple Design Award Winner INKS, How about you stick to movies "for audiences that seek emotional and heart-wrenching moments" instead of false advertising your meager attempts as a game? You could easily squish it in a less than 2-hour movie and maybe get another worthless award. Unless sporadically clicking a random gamepad button stops people from sleeping?
"Devolver Digital added a considerable number of Alpha and Beta builds as a bonus to the Steam version for the game's 20th anniversary, none of which are available on GOG. Attempts to get publisher's attention have failed." From "Games that treat GOG customers as 2nd Class".
