Compared to its predecessor, the difficulty level has been ramped up considerably. The fact that almost every boss causes two masks of damage right at the beginning and that some also summon smaller enemies, makes it a tough nut to crack, even for experienced Hollow Knight players. However, the victories at the end are all the more satisfying and, together with the world, the story, and the characters, make up the special appeal of the Hollow Knight series.
