Cyberpunk 2077

Too much glitchy stuff to fully enjoy.

This should be a brilliant game. Great world design, fun and interesting missions and side quests, great graphics, interesting characters, etc. Sadly, all that is becoming really hard to enjoy due to the glitches in the game and some really bad game design overall. And I am not just talking about the visual glitches like weird shadows, and clipping or floating or t-posed characters. There are so many annoying things. Everywhere I go there is a number of minor flaws that really take away from the experience. From items in the world I am unable to pick up to bodies I can't loot. Add in the occasional traffic glitches while driving. While none of them have been game breaking so far they are really, really distracting. Texting and calling NPCs is hilarious because multiple phone calls will come in at the same time so you character is having two (in one case 3) conversations at the same time while the video window has the people you're talking to all in the window clipping through each other. Text messages get mixed up in the wrong order all the time. There are also some really bad game design elements too. Driving is the worst I have seen in any game. Scripts often break forcing a reload. Lots of times certain actions are blocked making life difficult later on. I recently lost about 30 minutes of gameplay because I started a side mission with no weapons equipped that led to combat and I was unable to equip weapons during the mission so I had to go back before the mission to arm myself before hand. I have also encountered on mission breaking bug that many, many others have experienced also. Most of the time minor glitches and the like can be reasonably ignored. Here, though, there's just so many of them it keeps this game from being the great grand experience we were expecting and promised.

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

An RPG train wreck.

I don't get how this piece of garbage has won so many awards and gets such high ratings. At best this is Dark Souls level challenge strategy game, not an RPG in the least. Its difficulty isn't its worst flaw though. It has a steep learning curve with very little guidance. The "tutorials" are vague and incomplete. The interface is clumsy and the control scheme is unintuitive. NPC dialogues constantly run in the background which are annoying as hell. Combat mechanics are often inconsistent making certain things much harder than they should be. This game looks great, and has an interesting concept. But it's steep learning curve, crappy control and interface, and inconsistent combat mechanics make this train wreck no fun to play at all.

Dragon Lore: The Legend Begins

Horrible through and through...

Rarely does a title have so many thing wrong with it. The title of this game is about the only thing good about it. Maybe some music. But horrible voices, horrible graphics and animations, weird plot an dpuzzle elements. Unoriginal and uninspired gameplay...and buggy...buggy as all freaking get out. I say avoid at all costs. Having this added to the websit eis why GOG is no longer Good 'Ol Games..because this game is no where near good...

Wiedźmin 2: Zabójcy Królów - Edycja Rozszerzona

Good. but a step backward in the series.

This game really felt like a let down. While the game progresses in much the same manner as the first one it's story isn't anywhere near as interesting. Gameplay is not as diverse, combat is different, but not really improved. The plot is simple, often confusing, and overall uninteresting. The game has some truly fun moments, but not enough to make you forget about its shortcomings. A beautiful game in its visuals with many interesting characters but weak overall writing fails to really make anything truly notable. The mini-games are a joke. I really don't see any reason for fist fights and arm wrestling to be in here, they are a waste of time as they are basic and uninspired mechanics. Dice is ok but still not interesting enough to really make it worth while. The potion system is a let down because you can't use a potion while in combat, you have to meditate before you can use one and they don't last very long. This makes them essentially worthless because it's difficult to set it up where of will be able to activate a potion before a combat. This game is fun and worth playing, but overall disappointing as it feels like a step backward for the series with it's weak story, some weak game mechanics, and some odd design choices.

Thief™ 3: Deadly Shadows

Fantastic game.

Read what others say about the game as far as how the multi-platform port affected the game and such. This is a conclusion to the trilogy, with an appropriate ending, funny moments, strange moments, and serious moments. It sticks true to the way Thief tells its story through mission briefings, artistic minimally animated cut-scenes, and lore. It has the same dark atmosphere, mostly same mechanics as 1&2 with some minor and one or two significant changes. Oh, and one of the creepiest levels ever made in a video game! That level alone is worth it. This game has its technical flaws, but I guarantee if you like Thief, you will fully enjoy this game despite its flaws.

Omikron: The Nomad Soul

One of the greatest classis of its time.

It is hard to describe this game. It's a 3rd person action/adventure game with some awkward first person shooter thrown in (for unknown reason to me). But it has a look and feel that is un-mistakenly futuristic and otherworldly much like Dreamfall. You can easily get lost in this games world. I don't remember the story so much as I do the visual and sounds but this is one of a handful of games I have played from start to finish 3 times or more. Plus it has great music from David Bowie (and some in game concerts to boot from Bowie's in game alter ego). This game reaches way beyond and bring back something worthwhile. Quantic Dream really needs to modernize this game.

Beyond Good & Evil™

An astonishing game!

A masterful blend of exploration, discovery, humor, story, and action all wrapped in a well designed world full of fantastic environments and characters. There isn't anything about this game I didn't like.
