I am really enjoying this fun game and about this awful little foulmouthed king and the sweet little girl. I think the characters are fun and visually it's pleasant and voice acting very well done. It's nice for once for me to play an evil selfish person and the little girl reminds me of my nice side. HELPFUL PART: The reason I am writing this review now though I haven't finished the game is to give some info that I would have liked to have found here. When I get to a part of the game where I need to use a spotlight the game crashes and I know I'm not the only one this has happened to. Since I found the solution that someone thankfully posted on Steam I thought I would write it here to help others. Go to the options and turn down the master sound to 0 just for this part of the game and everything runs smoothly. I would never have thought of this myself and thought I would never be able to finish the game which was a shame because I really like it. I hope this will help someone.
I have played point and click games for more than 20 years and have tons of favorite games. But this is the first time I can say that a game stands out from all my other favorite games. Normally you start a game and then there are some things you will have to do to progress in the game and that means walking around back and forth a lot and sometimes getting stuck because you miss something and then finally you can get on with the story. And that is just it you have a story to follow and get to the end like a board game. I never had a problem with that and know some people prefer it this way or maybe they are so used to that is how a game should be that it feels wrong if it's not that way. With this game it more like an open story where there is so much to do, so many to talk to without it being boring and so many places to go so you forget the story and forget about an ending and just enjoy the game and the exploring. There are so many things you have to do so you feel like walking isn't in vain. Not only is there the things you need to do to get on with the story but you have to solve things for the inhabitants and help them out and on top of that there are several things for you to collect for yourself like stickers and cards and stuff. At least for me it never gets boring and yet I find that the puzzles are just right. The artwork is beautiful, the voice acting great, the music is really nice to not to use the word beautiful again and the controls are easy. The humor is good too though you may not be rolling around on the floor laughing. And to get back to the controls these are the easiest I have had yet in a game. They even have a special way of introducing the controls in the beginning of the game that is different than normally. I have now played for 6 hours and have not been bored or stuck even once. And I don't have one negative thing to say about this game. If your goal is game play and not reaching an ending you should buy this game.

Playing this game was like going back in time to the good old King's Quest days. I very much enjoyed it. The graphics are beautiful and the controls easy much like King's Quest 6. It's important to listen to everything that is said to you. I did get stuck twice, the first time because I wasn't paying attention to what was said. This is the kind of game you can play alone or with your kids. It's not a very long game but as it's not an expensive game I think the length and price matches. The ending is a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to the next chapter of the story. I recommend this game to Sierra and point and click adventure fans.
