This is one of those old games with the perfect mix of character, game design, and whimsy. The gameplay is simply, but builds upon itself until it's incredibly difficult -- but never unfair or designed poorly. The music and level design goes hand in hand, who knew that such a difficult game could have a feeling of such whimsy and beauty? I played this game when I was younger, and came back to it recently, it's been worth every minute played. I'm learning a life lesson as well while I die time after time, life is really about the journey, so if it is just about being the best you'll be miserable, but if you can appreciate the failures as much as the victories, and if you can enjoy the music and the sceneary, you'll never not find some peace and joy.
