Dino Crisis

Great little horror gem

There's not a lot of dino games out there, we gotta savor them when we get them. This is a hidden dino gem. The controls are rough and the story is paper thin, but the atmosphere is incredible and dinosaurs have never been scarier. Good stuff!

Lost Eden

An imaginative masterpiece

Yes, I played this as a small child in love with dinosaurs. Yes, I didn't really understand what a 'good' game was versus a 'bad' game at the time. And yes, this game has a lot of flaws when it comes to its actual gameplay. But goshdarn if this game isn't a legitimate masterpiece when it comes to setting a tone, creating a world and establishing a thematic whole. The gameworld is so wholly and wildly unique. Its ability to wave away elements that would traditionally require careful explanation (why are these 'human beings' made out of seashells?) while going in-depth on odd specifics (the ethics of human sacrifice?) is admirable. Not to mention the graphics, writing and music are pretty amazing, especially for its time. The soundtrack specifically really holds up well. I highly recommend checking this out (especially at this pricelevel) if you're at all interested in unique, off-the-wall storytelling from an era of game development when genre and form-factor were suggestions rather than necessities.
