This game is just amazing, and deep, and slow... you can design the best tanks, planes, whatever, build all that stuff and then discover you can't use them at all, because just moving them around will drain your fuel reserves in a couple of turns... it's full of such surprises:) I honestly think this is one of the best strategy games I've ever played. I hope the author gets rich and famous for it:D
I was very pleasantly suprised by the game. The story was interesting from start to finish (I really love mysterious ghost-stories like this), the game looks great (the stylization and atmosphere was amazing), and is not overly long (around 9 hours). I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a good story and is perhaps interested in seeing a bit of Soviet Poland (that's certainly not common!).
I've recently discovered the wonders of Star Control 2 and kind of hoped someone made something similar, but newer and perhaps better. Starcom is that newer and better game I think! It has the same charming attraction (I've started it and couln't stop for 6 hours straight), and is better in many ways. The visuals are gorgeous (it's been a while since I've seen such beautiful "empty space"), the combat mechanics are just perfect (it's fast, explosive and feels rewarding, though it't very simple at the same time), and the story (well, the world in general) has enough mystery to keep you going and want more:) I love it!:)
This game is really unexpectedly good!:D I started playing and just couldn't stop, because the game has pretty much everything I love about space games... good exploration with fun resource gathering (it's simple, but fun), funny and well written aliens, an upgradable spaceship... it's a lot of fun:) Also, I really like the visuals in general. Interestingly, the least fun part of all this is space combat (or I just suck at it), but that's a small complaint (it's not terrible, just not what I like). I never even heard about this game before today (which is a shame, because it probably means that many other people haven't either), but I already know that it will be one of my favourites.
Against the Storm caught me by total surprise! I was initially not very interested in the game given various videos, but after actually playing the game, I totally fell in love with it! There are a couple of reasons... There always seems to be something new in the game. Also, even though the game is random to some degree, you actually always seem to be able to finish it (though it may take you longer, which may hinder you in the long run). Also, you are levelling with each game, so subsequent games are actually a bit easier. Finally, it is a very pleasant game to look at and the atmosphere is actually very calming, which I like. All in all, I definitely recommend it, even if you just tried it for a couple of rounds.
I love Songs of Syx!:) I can't play it very well later in the game, but I still love it! It is very addictive:) Also, the soundtrack is lovely and I find the graphical style (especially the way lighting works) very appealing. All in all, this is a game I will return to many times in the future I'm sure:)
