This game literally looks the same or better than Ghost Recon, but it came out around the same time. It's setting and story is not really worse than Ghost Recon, a bit less dramatic and hugging what was happening at the time to a degree. This game was a blast to play on Xbox, and it was very good compared to the offerings on that system.
I was told the controls would be bad, but instead they're way better and the control of the squad is very solid. Weapons are improved, explosions are fun, more unit types and skirmish! However, the game is indeed much harder than Army Men 2. I liked it at first and it felt tactical to me. But the grenade and mortar spam is annoying. That would be okay if the mortar men looked different and I could like snipe them or something. Get it while it's on sale.
It has the map editor, but no random map gen; so it has that above AoE3. Sadly, AoE has an expansion as good as this, with better coding and interface. Meanwhile, AoE3 is missing the map editor and costs more, but it also has a lot of depth and pleasant visuals.
Minster is upset with me, wants to talk. Okay bro, let's talk. "I'm unhappy with how you treat the people I sympathize with." Okay...Who would that be? "Parents and Women." You do understand that the last year, parents and women have seen a wide number of pro them policies and I get excited letters of praise from them every single day? "Yes, but do they worship you as God yet? Do they love 100% of everything you do?" WHY DOES EVERY SINGLE MINISTER GET MAD AT ME NO MATTER WHAT I DO AND QUIT!!!!!!! I lose every single minister, despite getting 90% approval ratings!
Every single other game I've ever seen or heard of, that has a random map generator, and a map editor...Has both of them able to work with each other.... Why did they even give us a map editor if the map starts blank? It could take forever to make a map from scratch! That's one of the most important features. Why even give us so many campaigns, classes, and units; if we can't even edit random maps or generate random maps in the editor? I am...How?!?!?! Why?!?! Why give us all of these things and not this highly important feature? Are they new to the whole entire genre of game? Have they never played an RTS with a map editor in their lives? I want to go back to playing the first AOW or get the second one, just because of this!
I was playing as America. During my term, the economy got better, crime was beaten down, people got more done, and I pandered massively to the huge conservative base the country was. Everyone had a 70% or more approval rating. I lost the election, I got like less than 20% of the vote. Also, I worked hard to make sure minorites were okay, but they constantly were trying to kill me for some reason.... I was so confused I looked on the internet and found out this DLC causes many of these problems.
The story is very good and solid, I find this game was well worth what I paid on sale and I could see someone with more money getting it at full price. This game is a huge improvement of the last game, which I found frustrating at times, despite how much I played it. The story sucks you in, the other factions are interesting, I like how there is more resources and more stuff to trade, the dumb level 10 cap is gone, you can finally be a socialist dictator, and overall this game is the last one but squared....It's a whole order of magnitude better. I think I wish they made an expansion or something.
In the first game, you add a new ride or food place, and it takes them a whole 30 days to even realize it exists. This is even if you put it close to the front of the location. When I played this game three times, it took them years to notice something close to the entrance. All kinds of things I did, didn't seem to effect what was happening and the AI just seemed so bad. When things happened in the first game, it felt natural.
