I found this game 2002 on a magazine CD - the complete tutorial. Then I bought the disk and played it until I switched to iMac in 2007. Then I learned how to install Windows XP on the iMac using bootcamp and went on playing Emperor until Microsoft did something to block XP - I was very sad. Joy, joy, joy with GOG wineskin I have it back on my iMac. And it is even more comfortable because one does not have to insert a disk every time one want's to play it. The fascinating thing is that this game is so rich in variations that it never becomes boring and after 15 years of continuous use there are still lots of possibilities I have not tried yet. It is creative, constructive and besides from some small skirmishes not at all bloodthirsty. But it teaches a lot about Chinese history and culture which isn't bad to know. Thank you for not allowing this game to disappear.
