TL;DR: If it looks even remotely interesting to you, PLEASE GET THIS GAME! I saw Dredge a while back and planned to play it eventually, but didn't for a while because I'm not even a fan of fishing games. Then I got it from Prime and started playing, and oh my gosh the gameplay loop is nostalgic, reminding me of Motherlode from xgenstudios. The upgrades are spaced just far enough apart to make them feel good to get without feeling like a slog; the gameplay loop is long enough to be interesting but short enough to not overstay its welcome; the mechanics are just obfuscated enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. And the atmosphere! I feel like they've nailed the whole "eldritch horror" thing -- I estimate I'm halfway through the base game (about to buy the DLC because I'm having so much fun) and every answer I find raises more questions about these islands! I'm normally a negative nelly, nitpicking games to death, but I genuinely haven't had a single complaint about this game since I bought it. It's eerie and interesting and engaging and fun.
