Best for multiplayer maybe, but single player campaigns are boring hack'n'slash (didn't play premium modules though so dunno if they're any better). Sure, the game mechanics are pure D&D (which is good), but if you want to see it work get Icewind Dale 2 (not yet on GoG) or ToEE. However there are TONS of mods and user created campaigns that can make this worthwhile.
"What can you tell me about... Voodoo?" You just read it in Gabriel's voice, am I right? ;) If not, play this and you most certainly will. Tim Curry's voice performance was totally awesome. And the first part of the series is the best. A must have. Have fun with the drum code.
