Just passed a dungeon that made feel like I was in the movie "I am legend" and loved it. I love to explore open world games and I feel at home in the zone. I also have a 10 years old system with a GTX 1660 slapped on it so I can only play 720p HIGH settings, to be honest is almost a miracle it even runs for me. Like all STALKER games is unforgiving, almost frustrating difficult so not for everyone but that makes it not a generic survival game but THE survival game that so many others titles tryed to be. My only complain is about the cost of gear repair that is so high I am forced to use bad/less powerful gear that costs less to repair or risk to run out of resources. I hope they reduce repair cost by 50% and any improvement in performance is welcome!
Finally a RPG where you can role play! Finally a developer not scared that 3% of players will miss some% of content! Plenty of options in combat, and outside of it, if the final release match the quality of this early access BG3 will be the best RPG ever created. Dear Larian, what about a collaboration with CDPR on a proper turn based Cyberpunk? PLEASE? PLEASE?! PLEASE!! do it.
The good part: Baldur's Gate(1998) - Dragon age(2009) - WOTR(2021) Yes is that good, epic story meaningful choices allover the place it really feels like you are shaping your own char your own adventure, great quests for the most part and interesting npc/companion. Very nice maps, need to praise the art design in some dungeons really impressed by that. So what is wrong? This amazing CRPG is buried under too many unpleasant "facts": - alot of bugs, some critical if you like turn base, wich is the way to go in rpgs imo. Alot of good people, backers and whatnot made alpha and beta testing for you and still the game was quite a mess and only now is slowly starting to work as intended come on Owlcat :\ - Crusade mode is way less annoying then kingdom management was in the previus pathfinder, but it still is 'in the way' so to speak.... I mean it start like a minor minigame distraction but later you are forced to play it to progress with good part of the game which is questing. Loading times are much better, but still one menu to move the army another one to manage the political side of it plus move reinforcement here move main army there....really feels like a waste of time is not compelling and actually detrimental to the adventuring climax the rest of the set up so nicely. - some of the worst puzzels I've ever seen, where is the logic in some of those? no idea and even if there is one it becomes impossible to find out since you made the simbols needed to solv it so tiny I'll need true seeing IRL to catch the difference between them ffs!
Amazing game, when it works. Too many random crash to desctop for 5 stars, but almost everything else is just superb. - Night city is breathtaking, it actually feels like the NC from cyberpunk pen and paper universe and that by itself is a big achievement perfect playground for endless adventures. - Overall visuals 10/10 Red engine is heavy but worth it. - Gameplay is alot of fun, tons of skills and cybergadget to play with. - The real meat is in the sidequests like W3 are interesting, well written, never generic. - NC is so big is incredible, still walking/driving in streets/alleys I've never seen before after 120+ hours in the game!! Beside stability, my only real complain is about the main story, felt very caged in it with less options then side quests and too much movie-like for my personal taste. Truly is a masterpiece, really hope CDPR priorities are stability and performance before anything else!! DLC, multiplayer, etc etc can wait! In the end merry christmas devs you did it the game is a little miracle, have a good one :)
