Trail Out: Complete Edition

The Warlord Approves of This Chaos

This is one of the most fun games the Warlord has played in a long time. Trial Out is a light-hearted Fallout like racing game with its own flavour that is equal parts chaotic and Euro-jank (which I say in the most loving way). Pros >The Racing is fun and chaotic, clearly influenced by racing games from the early to mid 2000s. Most obviously Flatout 1 & 2. >Plenty of events to keep the game interesting. From racing and short-track racing, to demolition derby events, gimmick events and rag-doll events. >So many references from video games and films. Some are obvious and recent, whereas others could make you go "wow, haven't heard (or seen) that in a while. >Quite a lot of cars for a game made by FOUR people. many have great names too. So can be unlocked via cheat codes, which is cool. >Has split-screen multiplayer, which is both rare and great to see in a modern game. Makes me very nostalgic. >Very easy to understand and play. >A hidden game mode. Not great, but shows dedication and passion for the game. Cons >Graphics are fine, but not stellar. Lots of pop-in. >Voice acting is horrible. >Menu control is weird. Changes from mouse to controller randomly. >Car controls can come off as floaty and loose for first-time players. But I got over it quickly. >The rag-doll events are a bit floaty in the rag-doll controls, in my opinion. >Repetitive campaign structure, but is nullified (in my august opinion) via the fun racing. But overall, the game is fantastic fun. Another example of an indie game's studio making a fun and highly inspired game that many AAA studios refuses to do anymore. Definately get it when you can, more preferably on sale. But get it regardless!

Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes Soundtrack

A great blast from the past!

I adore Kingdom Under Fire, both Crusaders and Heroes, from my days playing the original Xbox! But whilst I may prefer Crusaders for many things, Heroes is just near about the same experience. Yet, this soundtrack hits the previous game's OST right out of the park! To quote a particular song from a particular band; "SO.HEAVY." You would be doing a disservice tio not get this fantastic soundtrack. And its free? No brainer, really. Also, recommend tracks Mission 5 and Briefing for first listening!

Suzerain

A Great Political Drama

A very intriguing and quite tense political, following in the footsteps of Anton Rayne, President of Sordland, set during his first term as president, as he shapes the country in anyway, whilst balancing promises, commitments and political intrigue. A sleeper hit if I say so myself. I can say I am glad to have bought this game on day one. The writing and lore of the strangereal-esqe continent of Merkopa is extremely extensive and worth reading. The characters are well developed and fantastically written, making you love some, and wishing others to f**k off. And in terms of you shape the country is up to you; a democratic republic, a dictatorship, a capitalist paradise or a mixture of everything and nothing. I highly recommend this game. Not only in support of this fantastic developer, but for a well-written political drama!

Destroy All Humans! Demo

Nice to see you again, Crypto!

A very nostalgic game from my youth on the Original Xbox, it is great that Destroy All Humans! is getting attention again after the sad dimise of Pandemic Studios. Overall, the demo is extremely good and actually better than I first thought it would be! And as a littel shoutout to my youth, it is cool that the demo used is the same as the old Xbox demo I remember playing all those years ago (The level that is). The visuals are the most obvious changes to the original game; very colourful and runs surprisingly well with very little bugs or crashes. Minute details can also be seen within the game, which adds nice amounts of detail such as mud clinging onto Crypto and ash and charred earth upon use of more destructive weaponry. The weapons are back and better than ever, with more impact and are just as visually satisfying to see used upon those pathetic humans. And of course, the flying saucer, bringing much hellfire and destruction with equal amounts of spectacular visuals! However, there are a few things I have noted which seems a little off, but over time will be used to hopefully. Firstly the cutscenes; mostly the lip synching and animations seem a little stiff at the moment. Secondly, the controls for using Crypto's abilities seem a bit strange, since I'm used to the old controller scheme of holding the trigger and a button, rather than a singular button. And finally, the characters, mostly the humans, just look a bit off. Almost like a cartoon made digital. But overall, the game plays great! Looking forward to the games release!

Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders Soundtrack

A soundtrack worthy of a general!

A great soundtrack from one of the best underrated games made for the OG Xbox. And its free? Thumbs up!
