Compelling world. Awesome visuals. Fun gameplay. Granted I've only really played a sword and shield style with a little bit of dabbling in 2handed weapons when I would get a good weapon drop that warranted taking for a spin. I have yet to even tap into the archery or magic builds! Runs great on Linux! No crashes or serious issues in my playthrough! Only real performance issues I had were assets loaded a tad slow (few seconds) in Cuanacht market when teleporting in. Otherwise ran splendidly. Mod support and continued future updates! One con I can share is the occasional time a new character you meet will just totally info dump you. Like we've never met before oh and here's my deepest darkest secrets!
I had more fun with this demo than a lot of completed games I've bought. The gameplay loop is there and it's fun. You can do a super easy task and escape or complete all 3 and try to escape. Once you return back you can buy new gear or upgrade what you have and go back down to explore deeper for more. The aiming and selection feels off at times however. When mining the target selection feels finnicky whch isn't a huge deal, just have to make sure to highlight the right tile before swinging. For the extraction sequence it would be cool if we could place structures to help hold out. Like turrets, walls, floor caltrops. Extraction waves weren't so challenging for me, I died the first time and escaped the others but if it gets tougher later it would be a nice option. I'm a huge sucker for the Dorf fort references
