Game defenitly fits in terms of feeling into 40k universe and is good place to start. Difficulty - unlike pathfinder games from Owlcat, Rogue Trader isn't really that hard, even without deep knowladge of the game you can very easily create squad that can kill anything game throws at you, the same applies even on higher difficulties. Gameplay - game has many QOL that make exploring quite enjoyable (No weight limit, automatic sending of trash items to cargo, showing actual passive skill value rather than how its calculated etc) except the fact that there is too many trash encounters, many of the fights aren't really challanging but due to quantity of enemies they can take some time and feel like time waster, overall exploration is enjoyable and after unlocking full map you most likely gonna clear most of the map first before progressing story. Story - Overall story is good but my main complain is Heretic route/choices, in game Heretic choices to put it simply are too extreme from the start, while it makes sense in late game its weird that your Rogue Trader acts fully as Chaos Gods lapdog in all of them instead of slowly getting more and more corrupt, also from my expiriance big Heretic choices aren't that good except end game, (Heretic can very easily lose one of 5 planets you can menage without ever mentioning you can own it, and all that for pretty worthless rewards in long game), in late game if you're Heretic enough you can get Heretic companions to replace dogmatic companions, except they are not very good, they are mediocre at best and don't have any voiced dialgoues, they battle voices also leave a lot to desire, overall chaotic companions feel more like afterthought rather than actual fleshed out companions. Overall - 4/5, minus 1 star is not due to my complains in review but due to fact I can't romance Argenta
Game is great as crpg with really replayable story, and pretty rich class system, while I give game 5 stars I do have some gripes with it, mostly the buff stacking (for which I recommend installing mod to do because frankly you gonna double your playtime due to buffstacking alone otherwise), and lawful choices, while some lawful choices make sense I feel game would need to have 2 types of lawful choices in almost every dialogue, because lawful in game is mostly "Yes Man" as long as everything is according to the law of the kingdom you lack any specific set of rules to follow, hellknights are better example of lawful in the game were they have clear rules they follow and they don't bend them even if rules of kingdom are different, while its not game breaking it breaks immersion slightly. Overall game is solid but dice roll will make you suffer when you faill 3 skill checks in the row when you only had to roll number higher than 5
Game itself in terms of what Robocop supposed to be is great, story is decent but what I liked the most in it is dry humour that you can hear going around, shooting at the beggining may feel weird but perfectly in character you play. My main issue is performance of the game, it often either got stuck at the loading screen or crashed randomly, while it wouldn't bother me if it was only one for few hours, the crashes can happen quite often and aren't exactly predictable, other problem is sudden drop of fps that may happen from nowhere but that can be usually fixed by going back to main menu and loading back in. Overall solid game in terms of content but with clear issues related to performance/gameplay
