...I've been playing wargames over 52 years starting with hex board games from Avalon Hill etc. When PC's showed up this game series along with maybe Civil War Generals 2, are in my opinion the best wargames ever since. You control almost all the stategy and it gives you a close up of the action in a setting that is reminiscent of ancient battles. Yes Total War: Rome had better graphics, but not the same level of control that you would expect from someone like say Julius Caesar, or Hannibal. You really get that feeling with these three games. I sure do. I wish I-Magic was still operating.
