I've never played a Might and Magic title before, but I fired this up on a whim earlier this week and basically haven't been able to put it down. It doesn't play quite like anything else I've ever experienced. Fights are huge, with dozens of enemies at a time coming at your party from every direction. Imagine twenty goblins rushing down a hill to get up in your face - that's the early game! The potion and spell systems are super cool, the world is genuinely interesting and fun to explore, the combat will have you cursing bad dice rolls like the best old RPGs. And if you thought the scale of the fights was wild, just wait until you see some of the dungeons... This is a heck of an inventive and fun game from an era where developers were still figuring a lot of things out, so sometimes things are weird in ways that still feel fresh and exciting almost three decades later.
