What to say about one of the most famous RPG of the 00's? Just some random bullet points: - The painted landscapes never cease to amaze me; - The music as well. This game comes from an era in which so much art was put into the gamescape! In the 10's, such artistic side of games was lost, before to come back and have the kind of elaborated games we can play now. However, at the time, it was a pleasant exception to find a game with a "core" (music, visuals, etc.) of artistic value; - Basically, the gameplay is an hymn to power playing. However, at the same time, IW represents also a perfect introduction to the D&D world and gaming system for beginners. Building your own party, carefully balancing everyone's characteristics, is a fun in itself; - Variety is what elevates this game. Given the amount of different classes you can choose, there are always 4-5 different ways to win a fight. In fact, replayability is one of the sttrongest assets of IW; - A bit of weirdness and humor in the dialogues makes this game less pompous, and way more enjoyable! A real classic, really recommended for those looking for fun, power playing and party management.
It is a refined and more cartoonish version of the Diablo series - all the gaming mechanisms have been refined in order to make them as immediate as possible. it is a very user-friendly game, as the first Torchlight was- i have to say that Torchlight 2 shos more variety in level design, landscapes and enemies. The only weak point of this game is personality - the "light" atmosphere and the very basic story, combined with the boring quests, makes it ideal for power players - but anyone who's looking for an immersive experience, should try something else.
