Atmosphere. That's what this game has. Music, sound, voice acting, story and dialogues. Thrill. It maybe lacks actual action, but it still makes you feel action. There can be not enough space to explore for someone, but there is infinite space to discover in Pale and even more – inside hero. And more so – it doesn't tell who you must be. It asks, and accepts your answers.

Actually it's 4,5. Game is interesting in both – noir detective and business management – sides. There are little bugs in game process. Sometimes it feels like not-enough-logic (or just hard to understand without translation) moments – especially in negotiations ("GIMME ALL COFFEE" is our local meme now. I hope it is NOT reference to "The Great Cornholio", which in fact could explain full absence of logic in that exact negotiation). So translation is strongly recommended. And, despite "noir" term right in the name of the game, kinda wish for a possible better fate for Arthur.

At first I was very excited about this retro-style quest. Retro-graphics looks even ugly sometimes and it is kinda charmingly nostalgic to me. Riddles are adequate and interesting at most, solvable by brainwork and not pixel-hunting. Story in the beginning looks interesting and mysterious enough. Voice acting is good in pair with character's emotions icons. Sadly, what starts as town's great mystery, becomes just main character internal problems in the end. Mysteries will stay unsolved at most, story lines leading nowhere, no alternative endings. Game is too short for it's story's scope. Don't be overexcited by the look of the game, and they maybe you will become satisfied by it.

I never finished it. Visually game looks fantastic to me. Game's world is intriguing. It has mysteries and it's own good humor But ohhhhh. soooo much work. And not just work. You must do this work IN TIME. If "oh my, it's to hard to do ALL this work, I'd rather go live my own life, it's actually easier and more joy" was game developer's target – well, hit is 100% precise. Otherwise – this is not game, this is very pretty "pointless hard grind simulator".
