Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition

Rocky Release but a Good Old Game

As of today the game was patched to allow proper online play. A future patch is also announced, so it looks like the Enhanced Edition that it is meant to be. Hopefully it will be better. As far as enhancements go, do not expect anything comparable to the treatment the previous title received. Moroever even the original Neverwinter Nights 2 got a very rocky release back then. So in a way it checks out, this poor game is quite unfortunate. But it is also a gem of a game that still shines bright. The superior 3.5 DnD ruleset shows, and the numerous options for playing and theorycrafting are simply one of the most delightful theorycraft that is out there. You can of course do all of this in the original game, that is also available on this platform, but this edition of the game comes with a 64 bit client that will be the future of the game. So it's good now, and it will likely get even better. If you are interested in playing Neverwinter Nights 2 online or exploring mods that will be released from now on, this is the version that will become the gold standard for doing that.
