I've read sooo many reviews raving about how amazing this game is. I fired it up, and started playing. And, then it was pretty much like watching paint dry, even with the game speed adjustments. I mean, why can't my workers build someting as simple as a coal fire in a barrel or pit to help stave off frostbite at the very least? Might not keep them perfectly warm, but might save them from losing some fingers and toes. I have access to coal, wood, and metal. Did people suddenly forget how fire works? I can see them carrying what look like torches. Unless those are flashlights? Where are the batteries coming from? I know you can research heaters, etc. But it just seemed off to me. Sent out my first scouting party, and brought back more people. Had to build more tents for them. Where is my option to hot bunk them, and run multiple shifts, without causing discontent? Ideal? Not really. It's worked for many military forces for hundreds of years. This should be an option in any survival game along this line. Nobody in this game should be sleeping on the ground, outside. I did not find the game even remotely fun to play. I kept looking for options to do things differently, that were not there. I only have the base game, which I received for free. So I cannot speak for any of the DLC. But I am glad I did not pay any money for it.
