This is the first strategy game of this type that I've played, so I can't say how it compares with other games, but I really enjoyed it--while it lasted. Once your territory starts getting big, it freezes your whole computer. Can't alt-tab out, can't end the program, you can only force a computer restart, and when you try to play it again, it freezes immediately. (I did confirm that my computer and drivers can handle it and the problem is not on my end.) I did some searching online, and many other players have this same issue and have not found a solution. After a certain point that varies but won't take you that long to reach, the game literally cannot be played. The only way to get it going again is to completely uninstall and reinstall, but the problem will return. If you don't mind all that, I thought it was pretty good. Soundtrack is nice, seems fairly historically accurate. Interface isn't very intuitive, but if I can figure it out, anyone can. Graphics aren't great, but since you'll spend most of your time zoomed out too far to see the little castles and walking ashigaru, it doesn't really matter.
