While many are going to prefer the GameCube (and HD remaster that came out later) remake of Resident Evil 1, there is still a lot to love about the game that started it all. It may not appeal to the majority of young people who weren't alive when it was released, but those that played it then or missed out and are trying for the first time will feel right at home in the 90's. Setting up the controller is a breeze (PS5 controller in my case) and it plays smooth. The cutscenes are from the Japanese/uncensored version but the music is from the original (and not the horrible Director's Cut music). There is no quick turn (180) and you can't skip the storage lid opening but you can skip doors and stairs loading screens. It's freakin' Resident Evil, what more is there to say? 4 itchy. tasty.
