Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

Brilliant Expansion - Just a few flaws

This expansion is one of the few games I've seen to not screw up an expansion to the original story. For the first time in a long time, I actually had to make choices that were chosen with care and always felt like I could have done something different, wondering what could have happened, if there were better decisions to make. I loaded up my old pre-2.0 save and immediately was greeted with the new perks system but didn't encounter any major issues. Took a bit of time to figure it out but it is quite easy to learn thanks to it's simplicity. The weapons have had their damage aspects nerfed dramatically, but not the point my old overture pistol was useless, it still packed quite a punch, melee weapons however, were nerfed to the point that I'd prefer using guns over anything else. The story didn't have any obvious conflicts and poor writing to just milk the game for money like many other developers would have done, the only thing I did notice is that in some places, it felt like they added some slow sections to increase the amount of playtime, but it didn't feel excessive like in some other games I've played. There were also a couple of bugs here and there, but these weren't anything major and minor visual bugs, likely remaining from the base game. The only mildly irritating bug I encountered locked me from opening my inventory and anything else, but this was fixed by saving the game and then loading that save which only took a couple seconds. For a total of £45 (base game + expansion) [what I paid], I'd say the value I got was outstanding, I genuinely never enjoyed a game like this in such a long time. If they ever make another expansion, I would have a genuine reason to be confident in pre-ordering it, making it the first time I'd ever pre-order anything.
