Whilst the title may not be necessarily true it is way less popular than say Path of Exile or Diablo. The game is straight forward with a decent enough story. The gameplay is easy to learn and to jump into. The class system can make you do a dual class which very much opens up what you can do in the game. I got the Standard Edition without the DLC's since it was on sale and I highly recommend the game regardless if you get it on sale or not.
The game is solid mechanically and offers a good tutorial dungeon very early into the game. If you are playing this game after Baldur's Gate 3 or DOS 2 you will already have a grip of how Larian makes their RPG's but otherwise you won't have to worry. Whilst I haven't gotten so far into the game as of yet I can say that the premise is interesting in that you are trying to solve a murder involving a magic called source. The music is amazing, the game isn't that hard in the beginning and you will be able to tell very fast if it is something for you or not.
