Titan Station

Great game for enthusiasts of the genre

Titan Station is a narrative exploration game, or walking simulation if you so want. The game takes place on a space station orbiting Jupiter's moon Titan. You play as David Miller who at the beginning of the game gets a job on the station, but as you arrive you soon realise everything is not well and you are the only one that can save the station and people onboard. This description doesn't really do justice to the story, but overexplaining would ruin the experience. Overall I think the art direction and script were great. I wish there was a bit more variety in the design of the station since most areas are very similar, but I guess that choice was made to make it realistic. A space station probably would have corridors and rooms with a unified aesthetic, but some more exciting level design wouldn't hurt. The graphics are great and the atmosphere is well done. It doesn't fall into the horror trope which a lot of these kinds of games do and I appreciate that. There's a strong focus on the story and the ramifications of what David experiences and realizes, which is great since these kinds of games sink or swim depending on how well the story is executed and how interesting it is. Titan Station is a great journey and I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest in narrative driven games. Bear in mind that I finished it in about 3 hours so expect a full evening of playtime but not much more than if that's a problem for you. I don't mind. I love stories that don't waste my time.
