It shines in survival mode. All the different mechanics come together really well (settlements, the world itself, inventory management and economy), and adds a great challengeto the game. The quests are not as engaging as they could be, and are almost always straight forward. The dialogue options, and options in general, are very limited, and don't offer much role-play. The voice acting is good, but having your character speak takes you out of the game a lot when selecting different dialogue options. Oveall though, the open world makes it worth it, with great environmental storytelling and design.
