Thief™ 3: Deadly Shadows

My fourth favourite game of all time

Play the damn game. The hate is unwarranted with the unofficial patch. Game looks gorgeous, artistically so. Sound design is phenomenal, atmosphere immense. Story encapsulating, level design incredible with lots of visual and gameplay variety and the game holds up beautifully. I've always liked this wayyy more than Thief 2, which I also love. Go in with an open mind and the patch and you'll love it, otherwise you're missing out on an experience. THIS is why I play video games.

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II

Garbage performance

Getting this game to even run is a pain, but een if you do and at high resolutions, mouse control is garbage and the framerate is atrocious. Don't even risk it.

System Shock: Enhanced Edition

Doesn't hold up

A great re-release. However, I don't think the game holds up well. If you can handle these old DOSBox era games go for it. I can't, and I don't think it's worth the effort. I have playtime on Steam, not here.

Carmageddon TDR 2000

Criminally underrated. Best Carmageddon

Intro By far the most underrated game I've ever played. It's my favourite in the series, despite it always having been considered the red-headed step child within the Carmageddon family. Totally unique, but also the only racing game I can call 'atmospheric'. A serious blast and a worthy successor to Carmageddon II and the original in every single way. At least most of us can agree it's better than Max Damage, right? The Great: ++Same old Carmageddon gameplay ++Lots of area variety ++Lots of vehicle variety with some seriously crazy contraptions ++Very long game for a racer The Good: +Seriously great graphics on hi-res mode compared to other games of the year with a very vibrant colour palette +Same great subtle humour as the other games +Music is catchy, if repetitive. Also not included on Steam version :( +Great sense of speed +The ways of upgrading vehicles and buying them is the best way they've managed to do it in the series +Missions are a joy this time around, unlike the artificially difficult, downright sadistic missions of its predecessor +Amazing atmosphere that I've never felt in any other game +Includes two cars (Enforcer is the best in the game) ripped straight out of the Mad Max series, which very few people know +As long as you read the description on the story page and do what it tells you, running this game well is incredibly easy and the framerate is insanely high +Sound design is unique with some otherwordly audio, suiting the kind of 'off' atmosphere of the game +Physics are brilliant +Works perfectly with third-party controller support The Okay/Not Too Big of a Deal: +-Same sound effects for crashing is pretty funny more than anything -+4 minute limit on timer. A lot of people have a major problem with this but honestly with so many time powerups around and cars to destroy it's never an issue for me. You could also try not playing on the hardest difficulty. +-Crashes at anything above 1080p, unfortunately, so no 4K Carmageddon TDR2000 The Bad: -A huge step down from Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now's wonderful vehicle destruction. Vehicles now crumble in the same predictable ways. -Some missions are really ♥♥♥♥ing hard on the hardest difficulty -Missions are somewhat repetitive -Very glitchy physics -Peds only give about 4 seconds of time and are hard to kill, which really sucks The Horrible: --N/A Sound: 8/10 Graphics: 7/10 Gameplay: 8/10 Content/Replayability: 8.5/10 Overall: 8.5/10 Conclusion I adore this game and will defend it to my dying breath. Fight me Carma-nerds.

Deus Ex™ GOTY Edition

The best game of all time

Intro (Note: 407 hours Steam playtime) The best game I've ever played. To me, the game has nigh perfect gameplay. The story is intricate and deep and has captured me in unlike anything other than the Thief series, and it even tops those games. I cannot recommend this game enough. I'll never not be playing this game. The Great: ++An exceptional narrative that will keep you enthralled throughout. Story telling through its level design, things to read, characters, whatever. You name it, it does it exceptionally. ++Every goddamn character in this game, even random NPC's, are memorable and unique in some way ++Exploration is highly rewarded ++Stealth is very well done ++Don't let anyone tell you that you can't play this as a first person shooter. You absolutely can. Just don't be stupid about it on higher difficulties, just like you wouldn't be stupid on Halo on Legendary. ++The game is perfectly paced and very long ++The roleplaying aspects are fantastic and totally accessible to anyone while still maintaining intricacy and depth with consequences to your actions ++Conversations are interesting and your dialogue options are impactful, as well as in-game actions ++The array of options presented in every senario are huge with consequences to each ++Replayability is gigantic ++Hub worlds are intricate and large The Good: +If you think the textures are lacklustre even for the time, the game's consistently brilliant artstyle more than makes up for it +The weapon mod system is awesome +JC Denton is one hell of a protagonist +Very nice graphics +The difficulty system is unique and extremely well handled +The Unreal engine's 'get-closer-and-higher-res-textures-appear' help make this game look better than the vast majority of games out at the time The Okay/Not Too Big of a Deal: +-Unlike modern games, this game was never made to be played in one way for the whole game. You can, but people keep trying to play it how it was never designed and then get angry at it for not letting them. If you're going to do a non-lethal stealth playthrough, avoid confrontations all together. There is simply not enough ammo and nor are the weapons really made for still trying to take everyone out non lethally. -+If you're going to do a stealth playthrough, get the silent fall augmentation. It'll ease frustration immensely. +-I honestly don't think the game looks that bad at all -+Hitboxes are a little whacky in terms of headshots, but your crosshair indicates if you'll hit the shot -+Animations are pretty shoddy here and there +-Some lines are delivered in ways the writer obviously didn't intend. A rare issue and I'd say more of an issue on the voice director's behalf than the voice-actors themselves. The Bad: -Even the best game of all time can have cons. This game has issues with modern systems. Most do, though, and there are easy fixes. Not its fault, really. -Hong Kong has some serious voice-acting issues and a few glitches -Almost every weapon in the game has balancing issues. Some severe (PS20 is useless, Sniper with silencer is OP), some a little more subtle (Tranq dart is not a viable stealth weapon, Silenced Pistol isn't very silent when enemies don't die to headshots in one hit). -Augmentations have similar balancing issues to weapons -Skill system could be improved greatly -Crappy sound propogation makes stealth unfairly frustrating The Horrible: --N/A Sound: 10/10 Graphics: 8.5/10 Gameplay: 10/10 Content/Replayability: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 Awards: Best Game of All Time Game of the Year - 2000 Game of the Decade - 00's Best Videogame Narrative of All Time Conclusion For me, nothing even compares to this game besides the Thief series. It is an incredible stealth game. An incredible role-playing game. An incredible shooter. An incredible narrative and most of all a totally, uncomparable experience of a game. I don't use the term 'masterpiece' lightly, but goddamn if this isn't one.

Thief™ Gold

Second best game of all time

Intro (Note: 253 playtime hours on Steam) This game blew my mind multiple times on multiple playthroughs. THIS is why playing games is my hobby. I had this game for a couple of years but could never get into it. Eventually I decided to keep going no matter what. By the third level I knew this game was something special. This was only in 2015 so no nostalgia attatched. Thief the Dark Project's world is so incredibly presented through it's unparalleled atmosphere and world-building, memorable characters, brilliant writing, kick♥♥♥♥♥anti-hero, incredibly impressive audio design and level design that will blow you harder than Mia Khalifa. There are no other games comparable to the Thief series (besides the almighty Deus Ex). The pinnacle of video games in just about every concievable way. The Great: ++Easily the greatest sound design in video games, it's so good it's even a main part of gameplay ++A narrative so original and well told it leaves every other first-person game from 1999 and before in its dust ++A unique, fleshed out world told through its level design, witty dialogue and interesting stuff to read ++Gameplay so incredibly fun and innovative it makes you wonder how Half-Life could ever be considered even remotely original ++Due to the largeness and utter depth of each and every level, replayability is incredibly high despite there not even being any multiplayer ++Thief's world, the 'City' is finely crafted every corner explored is a joy ++Stealth is the most enjoyable I've ever experienced by far. Immersion is at an all time high here. ++This game spews innovation in large quantities ++Very long game with tons and tons of stuff to explore ++Again with the atmosphere. It's simply unmatched in anything I've ever experienced. ++Level design is, again, totally unparalelled with fantastic pacing and mission variety The Good: +Characters in this game are truly amazing and the villian is terrifying +AI and the diversity of enemies are all a joy to fight or sneak around +Garrett's arsenal of weapons are creative and every one of them useful. No problem Dishonored, you can steal every one of them +Graphics are great for the most part +Great use of difficulty put to work here, but don't do Normal or you'll potentially be missing out on half the game +The physics are awesome and pretty innovative +Movement works beautifully for its stealth gameplay and makes traversal interesting +Eric Brosius' soundtrack is incredible The Okay/Not Too Big of a Deal: +-The graphics are rarely uneven. There are at times some truly terrible texture work, but 95% of the time it looks pretty damn great and compares with the best of the year. -+Runs like crap on modern systems, that is, if you can even get it to run. Not its fault though, really. This is the same for a large majority of games of the time. TFix exists for a reason. +-You may hate some levels at first, but I'm sure that after every replay you'll learn to love them The Bad: -N/A The Horrible: --N/A Sound: 10/10 Graphics: 9/10 Gameplay: 10/10 Content/Replayability: 10/10 Overall: 10/10 Awards: Best Game of the Decade - 90's Runner-Up Best Game of All Time Game of the Year - 1998 Best Sound Design of All Time Conclusion I can't find a bad thing to say about this game. I simply cannot. Thief is uncomparable to anything within the industry. I don't use the word lightly, but Thief the Dark Project and it's Gold version are simply masterpieces. The second best game of all goddamn time. Half-Life? Ocarina of Time? Not even close.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon®

Please add expansions packs

Rainbow Six but with more open environments and in-game tactical options on the fly. In-game tactical options instantly makes this better then Rainbow Six IMO. If only Rainbow Six had it...anyways Ghost Recon is an incredible game and I'm not gonna bother making a real review because GOG doesn't have the expansions. Please oh please add the expansions GOG.
