If you played and loved the original Shadowgate, you will greatly enjoy this game. There are callbacks to Uninvited and Deja Vu in this game that can feel a bit distracting, but the lore and puzzles, as well as revisiting the actual castle, make the game great and worthy of your time.
I've played so many point and click adventure games recently, and this came recommended to me after playing Inherit the Earth. Now it's one of my new favorites among the genre. It has a good amount of puzzles, great visuals, and fantastic music. I definitely look forward to new chapters and fully support all who helped to make this game come to life.
I didn't play these back in the day, but I wish I had. I enjoy the interface of all these games, but adding combat and leveling up, in a satisfying way, makes the game more interesting to me. I like being able to carry over my character from game to game. It's not for everyone, but I can highly recommend it if you enjoy retro style point and click adventure games.
