*Spoilers* The new art is great. New music is good. Everything else is half-a*sed. A few things like Eel Shantae for example look like concept art for something she could turn into to swim like the mermaid in the other game. Nope. Just a picture. Seemed like they either couldn't be bothered this time around or some suit told them they had to make a game fast. I hope its the latter. Heres to hoping the next game is better.
Awesome game by an awesome developer. This is my favorite ARPG by far. I knew about it a long time ago and I regret not getting it when it was new. This game is gorgeous to look at and very satisfying to play. So many ways to play, so many things to try, and an impressive amount of diverse loot/gear. Like Diablo I & II? Like Lovecraftian Horror? Like ARPGs made by developers that actually know what they're doing? If you said yes to one or two of these, I recommend this game. You can expect awesome things when the all the people involved with making the games also play them. Grim Dawn has had massive and awesome updates. Differed Rendering, visuals, balancing (Veteran is now properly difficult), and a ton of other things. Many issues in other reviews have likely been patched. The Devs are great. The game is great. -- (Above review is also my Steam review)
At the time of this review I have 67 hours of game time on Steam. Just going to say the same thing I said on my Steam review: Super fun and satisfying. Good amount of customizations and a ton of loot. Not to mention crafting and building possibilities. Multiple game modes (including a Creative mode) and lot of replayability. The Developer is awesome. The Breviks are just awesome. Highly recommend this game! - P.S. Heres one beginner tip: Not "needed" but I recommend building your first fire a little underground and wall yourself in when you sleep and you're golden
