Seeing this available on GOG is great news for those wanting to see gaming history preserved. The review-bombing based on price is just a d*ck move by sad little twerps. At the time of writing this review, it was available for $9 AUD, which is a bargain for the effort that went into restoring it for modern PCs. Well worth buying if you want a piece of PC FPS history.
IGN SUCKS!!! 🤣 If you're looking for a FPS based on the exploits of the Colonial Marines, this ain't it. This game is a survival horror masterpiece. You'll be sneaking around, trying not to shit your pants as you're stalked by a Xenomorph who's out to kill you. You'll run into civilians, NPCs, synthetics and other hazards along the way. The atmosphere is first rate, and although the game is 10 years old, it holds up well in 2024. No other game captures the essence of the first Alien movie like this one. When that Xenomorph spots you, you'll wish you were dead, and you probably soon will be. Plenty of excellent DLCs are included in this version too, adding hours of additional gameplay. One even let's you play as the original crew members on the Nostromo. This is a AAA+ title that is a 10/10 in my book.

This is a AAA title that still looks great in 2024. Basically you're waging a one man war, roaming around blowing stuff up and causing general havoc in a sandbox World set on Mars. If that sounds like something that would interest you, give it a go. Currently on sale, and for $6, your can't really go wrong.
This is a fun game, with tutorials, single missions and two campaigns. There are 3rd party mods available for download that increase the units available to control and add more campaigns. It can be tricky at first, but once you understand the mechanics, it's very rewarding. Recommended purchase.
Having played most of the games in the Close Combat Series, I found the addition of the strategic map, which incorporates concepts of supply availability and movement of battle groups, added an extra layer of complexity compared to the original or Close Combat 3. There doesn't seem to me to be anything in this release worth a price 6 times higher than A Bridge Too Far. Buy this when on sale, as it is more polished and seems to run more smoothly. Overall an enjoyable strategy game. 👍
I have really enjoyed the game. It's very satisfying to get hits on and sink enemy ships. Wasn't too sure about the turn based mechanic at first, but it works quite well. I would have liked to see more units, may be French and Italian to add a bit more spice, but for the price, and the fact that the game appears to have been developed for mobile phones primarily, I suppose there's not too much to complain about. Killerfish seems to be getting more in-depth in their newer releases and I hope this continues. We need them to make all their titles available on GOG.
