Finished it in 2-3 days. This game reminded me a lot of Impressions Games / Sierra city-building simulators Upsides: 1. game is compact and fast 2, rather handy automanagement system when you're low on money 3. reminds a lot of classic games such as Pharaoh and Cleopatra and Caesar Downsides: 1. apart from positive sides taken from Impressions Games, 1849 also inherits some of the bad ones 2. there is now way to automatize trade. This issue is not as bad when building smaller, medium-level towns, but making rich blocks is a clicking nightmare. 3. can't pan camera when placing a building 4. can't rotate view (even Pharaoh like) 5. no change of seasons or even times of day 6. poor access to some functions Verdict: 7/10 (not bad for the first effort)
