Played this game while pregnant myself (probably not the wisest idea), though I did so in Adventure mode and watched the original gameplay on youtube. It is better than the previous Amnesia instalments but not as good as SOMA which came before it, all of which I played in original difficulty. If played in original, I think the darkness can get quite stressful sometimes and there are areas in mid-game with too many monsters, though some people may enjoy this. The story felt a bit slow in the middle and rushed at the end, and I can pick a few holes in it, which I will not mention to avoid spoilers. I think the Amnesia story and darkness mechanic is a bit exhausted after this (I know there is one more, but I will not be playing that one). The team should create new stories, like the five star SOMA they did, but that is just my opinion.
This game will ask you to consent to getting your data harvested, data way beyond your use of the game. There is no option to not allow this. Helpful reviews from Horizon Zero Dawn highlighted this and that is why I did not purchase it on sale, so I am adding it here for those who did not know the same is happening here.
Absolutely wonderful experience. As a fan of both the original BG games, which I played when they came out, and of Larian's Divene Divinity series, I am enjoying this very much. Bringing BG to the possibilities of 21st century gaming, with an engaging and interesting story and characters which will make you google a lot of Forgotten Realms lore. It not only connects with BG but also brings back memories of Planscape Torment, another Black Isle masterpiece of the time. And all this mixed with Larian's trademark comedy elements and amazing talking animals. It also features a lot of character customisation. It will appeal to both older and younger gamers. The cons? If you manage to get away from your computer and relate to other human beings, you will be thinking how long until I can get back to BG3 again... Grab your wallet now!
Excellent game, very addictive (got me in trouble more than once). If you don't usually play this genre, I recommend you have a look at begginner's tips online to avoid a lot of frustration at first. You need to engage your brain to play this - now I feel sad going back to brainless games like Cyberpunk...
