It's well, done - the graphics are beautifully kitchsy, the voice acting is adequate, the mechanics simple & sound, it's polished, no obvious bugs. But it's linear & static: you play once, maybe twice for a possibly different ending & that's it.
It's a fun, addictive little game. Unfortunately, the game pauses hard at end of day, would be nice if it contiued.
I like the premise, ,the graphics & the mechanics. The combat is slow, with no option to skip the time-consuming animations. There is a graphics menu option to have "fast" animations, doesn't save as much time as other games. The game also has a bad habit of just.. Crashing.
A bit clumsy & gratuitous at times, it has a compelling overarching story.
For the time, this ws some super high quality story telling & a solid engine. However, it continued with the pixel-hunting trend & the "just try everything with everything" brute force approach of the genre. Also, the well-worn "good hearted womanizer" hero & "spunky, streetwise, acid tongued" assistant were old & repulsive even then.
Here they have a chance to bring awareness to more diverse under represented victims. And they don't they follow the standard familiar narrative.
