Also ich war zu Anfang echt skeptisch ob ich mir das Game holen soll. Ehrlich gesagt sah es auf den ersten Blick sehr billig aus und ich war mir nicht sicher ob das Gameplay soviel hergibt, das es den billigen Eindruck überwiegt. Aber ich wurde eines besseren belehrt das Game hat alles was ein RPG haben muss: Level-Ups, Skills, Quests und Dungeons. Zudem ist die roguelike mechanik nicht überpowert. Das Game kann an manchen Stellen echt unfair sein, aber es liegt eher daran das man zu früh zu gierig wird ;). Sterben ist aber nur bedingt tragisch da man eines seiner Items mit in ein neues Abenteuer nehmen kann. Dies geht allerdings zu Kosten eines anderen Startvorteils. Alles in allem ist es ein sehr gelungenes Spiel, mit Luft nach oben und ich hoffe die Entwickler setzten später noch einen oben drauf. Sei es auch durch einen bezahlten DLC. Ich habe das Game im Sale gekauft und finde, jetzt nach dem ich es gespielt habe, sogar den vollen Preis wert. Auf die Frage: " Is it a buy?" kann ich nur Antworten "Devinitief!"
Bought it, played it for 10 Hours and finaly finished it. Good for laughs! was worth it's money! Nothing more to say! Buy it on sale, else it could be disappointing!
Halcyon 6 is a really nice game which mixes several genres in one game. To me its a nice combination between FTL, Convoi and Smugglers 5. The strategic part is pretty nice, it gives you variation in strategies through the choices you made by the selection of your officers and ships you use in battle. Depending on the chosen difficulty, it can be even very frustraiting. The Character development is a bit linear, but through different skillsets, depending on the Type of Officer and the type of skills he/she can have, it has enough variation so that no Character seems to be like the others. A big Plus is the Epic skill of your station officer, so choose wisly! The Storytelling part is kind of a of cheap rip off of other games, but that shouldn't scare you off. So don't await any high quality texts in the storys that are told. But overall they tried to keep it funny and in an overall perspective they get there. The resource managementsystem is a bit boring and repetitive. You can develop a system to max exploit the availible resources, but that's pretty much neccesary to beat the game. A big point of dissappointment was the IU. For every action of one of your fleets, you will need to make at least 3 clicks, which can be pretty anoying.That, because of the lack of varioation in resource gathering, while your fleets fly the same routes over and over again and you have to make 3 clicks for every waypoint you move to. So this is also the reason to give only 4 Stars. Tycoonplayers are warnd here, dont expect any economic system development. THe graphics of the game are nice retro look with some effect pollishing. I like it, but Graphics are pretty much depending on your taste. Overall it is a 4 Star Game, because it has an overall nice feeling to play it. But the price is a bit high and its better to buy it at a sale.
As many people mentioned before this game is a mix out of several genres. It's a combination of FTL, trading sim and a SIM'S game. The game is in the beginning realy enjoyable but when you proceed a bit there are three major flaws to the game: 1. It needs really a patch to fix the bugs. Game crashes from time to time and some of the controls are influenced by bugs, that means scrolling wont work properly or other little control flaws like repairing your ship wont work untli you bought another item at the shipyard. 2. The variaty of ships you kan buy gives an ilusion of possibilitis. You can buy 10 different ships but with no joke there are only 3 ships that reallly make sense and these don't change with the way you play the game. IF you are a space trade or an galactic headhunter, doesn't matter. THe ships that are usefull stay the same. The rest of the ships are playable but you will soon understand what i mean by there are actually only three ships. 3. Headhunter missions glitches the game smallest bounty gives the most reward. IF you are looking for money through out the game you may think that the easyest way to earn money is by trading. But here you are wrong. The easyest way is to hunt down the targets with the lowest bounty, and every time you do that your target will surrender with an offer to give you several tenthousend credits. THere is no other way that makes it possible to earn that much money in that short amount of time. Really pissed me off becaus after an hour of headhunting i had so much money that it did'nt bother me anymore through out the game Except of these big flaws the game is really enjoyable and kan keep you playing for hours. Campaign as well as sandboxmode are fun to play. I like this game also it has these 3 Flaws i mentioned before. So with a little bugfixing and maybe (that would be really nice) a content patch, this game would always be rated 5 stars, but as it is now its only 3 stars worth and thats kind of a nice gesture.
I love this game as i love FTL , its a really good game. As others already mentioned, it has much off FTL but is also different in many ways. As apposed to the linear gaming of FTL Convoy lets you explore freely the world map. You can explore as long as you wish and determine on your own wishes when the final battle starts. The Costemizationoptions of your vehicles are OK but there could be more variaty and i hope there will be a contentpatch for that. But the variaty of the game and the many ways of costemization are enough to play this game for hours and hours. The achievment system is also great!!! I say if you like rouge-like games than its definetly a buy!!!!
Hey there, I played this game in miy youth over and over again. It is one of the most replayable games i've ever played. U got 3 options to play through the storyline and each option has its own cutscenes. But thats not the reason for the great replayability. The game has lots of stuff to do. Actually the most fun is making money. Escortingh your own hired cargo ship to other planets to sell goods keeps the game interesting also if u don't want to play storyline. From my point of view it is definetly a game worth buying and much thanks to the GOG team to bring up this game, runable on win 7!
I've played NWN 2 so much and i have realy enjoyed the game. Supercool maincampagne and very cool expensions. One little thing that botherd me was the multiplayer of the mainstory. I've tried it with a friend of me and we were totaly shocked, because if someone in the group wil talk to a NPC the rest of the group has to wait. So thats a pretty sad thing and you quickly get annoyed. There is a Mod to fix this problem but i haven't tried it out till today. For the rest the game has no complications in MP. As single-player game it rocks totaly!!!!!!!
