I've finished AoD some time ago and loved it, and Colony Ship is an improvement in every way, in terms of story, writing, world-building, graphics, and gameplay. No modern politics, no agendas, no shortsighted nonsense, just unbiased, awesome storytelling with believable and realistic characters and happenings, predicated upon that most constant law in the universe, and that is human nature. Also, I've played a lot of games, lots of crpgs, and this is the most original setting I've seen in a long, long time. This is as good as it gets, and I can't recommend it enough. I'm still amazed that such a small team made this game, and any sequel from these devs will be a day one purchase from me.
Many paths, many builds, many ways to do the quests, and all decisions matter, no superficial choices here. I ended up playing it only once, since as Loremaster I discovered most of the lore (fascinating stuff) and simultaneously managed to do most of the fighting stuff too, somehow, with knives and poisons and whatnot, and also I rarely play a game more than once. But there are many ways to finish this game and many endings, and even with my 1 playthrough it took me 50 hours do finish it, so I'd say it was well worth the money. And now I'm playing Colony Ship and I'm loving it as well. Needless to say these devs are something else. Highly recommended.
Been playing a while, absolutely love the setting, the scenes are very well done and clutter in areas is really immersive. Like the gameplay mechanics and the odd mix of magic and tech. Recommended, looking forward to playing the entire trilogy.
A Fantastical Industrial Revolution, a combination yet to be seen anywhere else. Absolutely loved it and would recommend it to everyone who likes crpgs. But be sure to play with Unofficial Arcanum Patch by Drog Black Tooth, that will greatly improve your experience in many ways, as with other Troika Games releases the game on its own came out very buggy.
Incredible atmosphere, characters, story, writing, world, gameplay... literally everything about this game is absolutely extraordinary. Everyone should play through it at least once, if only to gain a better understanding of the absurdity of our world mirrored so truthfully in the game. Of course, ever since the ultraliberalist takeover of the company that made this game and the 'execution' of its writers you may want to re consider buying this game directly and further enriching these perfect examples of the worst humanity has to offer...
