American Conquest + Fight Back

Fun, to a point

I loved this game years ago when I started to play the cossacks games. It is really cool with its massive feel with tons of units. The effects of a major battle can be simply amazing but to get to that point is hard to say the least. Populations number into the thousands, something the AI can do quite well while your left spending half your gametime clicking the living life out of your mouse to produce peasants, then again to turn the peasants into soldiers. If you don't understand the mechanics or can't compete with AI hordes that literally fill the minimap with color, you will quickly find yourself out of money to pay troops, or the all the essential coal to fire your muskets and cannons. In short, it is a fun game (for a while) but has some serious flaws that will have you begging for mercy berfore the end.

Rayman® Forever

Good 2D Game

Ironically I got this game after playing Rayman 2 but I was too young to realize just how different the two were. Nevertheless the game is fun but as I recall it was very tough and even annoyingly difficult at times. It has been awhile so maybe I could beat the game now but otherwise it is really an interesting game to buy.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Defeat Razorbeard!

I remember being given this game for Christmas as a kid and it was one of the best game experiences I have ever had. A couple months ago I was rummaging through some old discs and I came across the old copy of Rayman 2 and installed it, and got it working again. Even now the gameplay still holds up as some of the best you can get. It is perfectly balanced between skill, combat, and puzzle solving that keeps the game fresh for many hours of gameplay. Plus you can connect with the characters in a way that few adventure games allow. This is a great deal for a great game whose success that is still generating titles today. Buy it.

Red Baron Pack

The Original War Flight Sim

I'll date myself when I say this but I remember when I was 8 learning how to navigate DOS just to play this game. As such I wasn't the best pilot. I would fly around in endless circles looking for baddies and balloons or see what happens when extreme G forces and steep dives rip your plane apart as you fall to your death. I died more times than all the kills of WWI combined it seemed, but, hell it was fun. Still today I remember those moments and as a kid dumbstruck by what computers could do. This is a great game but for some reason my memories are more about dying and flying without the shooting down enemies bit so it was tough.
