So for a starter ignore anyone complaining about balance/bugs in the early access alpha testing (any review before August 3rd 2023)!! Of course the alpha has bugs and unfinished content, its an early access for people to test! Not the finished game. BG3 is a good spiritual successor to BG1 and 2, of course its not the same story line (anyone expecting a continuation of the same story should read up on the cannon lore of the forgotten realms). The store heavily features the dead 3 which does include Bhaal (who is now a quasi divine entity after there resurrection). While the number of companions is fairly low, each one has a long and deep story line which continues through the whole game. As such its a case of quality over quantity. This is BASED on D&D5E with adjustments to make it work better in a video game. Keeps the core ideals, but does make some changes to make it work in a video game.
