I always wanted to buy this on GoG as well, as I already own it on Steam, but the GoG version seems to have two big issues, that have not been adressed by Gog and Amplitude. On Steam, the game uses the Steam MP to play with up to four others. It is not stated in the store page if the game uses Galaxy or if a direct IP connection was added or if Crossplay is a thing. For a game that is much more fun in multiplayer that has to be clear. And secondly, even reviews from this month still mention that monsters don't drop dust. That is a core mechanic and needs to be fixed. As long as this is not fixed it shouldn't be listed. The steam version doesn't have this bug, so it's about time Amplitude takes some responsibility. Don't bother if GoG and Amplitude doesn't. Get it on Steam. I love GoG, really, but this is unacceptable. Check your games, react to these bugs, delist titles that don't work. This is a core mechanic, is HAS to work. I don't care who is at fault here. The title doesn't work as intended and should not be listed.

Parts of the content of this title are barred behind an always online DRM, which will be unaccessible once the servers will go offline. It stops players from accessing the full title, all features and progress in the game. As GoG is advertising itself to be a DRM free store this product does not belong here and should either be patched or pulled from the store imidiately. Stay away. Just because it is an AAA title, doesn't mean DRM has to be in it.

TLDR; An atmospheric rpg-shooter which runs fine on my 5 year old hardware with some minor bugs and weird mechanics here and there. Before starting everyone should include their specs in their reviews. Complaining about tech. issues when the reviewer's machine doesn't fit into the requ. specs if unfair. Check your CPU. If it is 10 years old: get a new one. So: i74770k, GT 1070, 32GB RAM, Win10 (latest as of Dec. 2020), latest GPU driver Technically: The game runs as I expected on my machine. I had absolutely no crashes what so ever and only encoutered minor glitches here and there. Mostly NPCs not doing what they should: stop driving, not fighting, walking in the air. But the not driving part is the most common. I had some quest NPCs not acting as well. Loading times are incredibly fast, settings are in high and ultra without any RTX stuff in about 40-50 fps stable. Gameplay: While I like the gunplay and the RPG aspects to form V in a way I want I feel most skills are only making V slightly better here and there without adding more to it. RPG aspects could be better as well. There are not many dialogue options for my chosen path. BUT most NPCs will act and behave way more realistically than I have ever seen, apart from the street NPCs which are the total opposite. Quest NPCs and characters are very well made an react to what you do more than expected. An there are also many choices in how you do or react to something without making it super obvious like in most games. Unfun?: Driving. I rather walk then drive in this game. There is no way to walk/drive slower as well. Atmosphere Is amazing, overall. The sound design is great, the city feels alive (as long as you don't look to closely or talk to someone) and every district has a feel to it. Everthing is quite dimensional, if that makes sense. Fun And that's what brings me back. While some bugs are annoying the gameplay loop itself is fun! Guns, NPCs, the city, fun! But still needs some Polish polish.

I want to like the game but there are a few mechanics and design decisions, in this one and the first, that keep me from enjyoing them. But the good stuff first: + Graphics, effects, music and the overal presentation, especially the UI are great + The combat system is nice and deep + Wonderful writing and characters + A lot of character customization + Many ways to solve situations But the bad side is, that the game doesn't give you enough money and there are no ways to farm or level up, as mobs don't respawn. That becomes icky because everything you need, equipment and spells are pretty expensive but necessary to advance and ressurection scrolls are the most important part of that list, which are also very expensive. That in turn became a problem for me, as I landed on the second level with Level 9, while the level itself doesn't offer much for that range and most enemies will either just kill you outright (Level 13 and up) or are a pain to fight. The beforementioned need for those scrolls multiplies due the high difference in level and equipment, which I just can't afford or didn't reach. I basically land on a map where most of the enemies are too high and I therefore can't advance and can't level up as there are no lower enemies left to kill. I explored most of the map to solve this but to no avail. The game also doesn't give you any hint where to go, what to do next, while every wrong step potentially kills you due the level difference. Part two has a better log, still no questlog, but what it shares with Divinity: Original Sin 1 is this odd level design, the limited ways to level and gain income, and kinda need to steal everything to solve it, which I don't do. I can't recommend it, despite its wonderful characters, writing, graphics and UI. This is just not acceptible for me. Either play the game a certain 'right' way or have a vey hard life surviving. A game that is build on choices shouldn't limit the player this way.

I want to like the game, I really do. Unfortunately, I expected to have some kind of quest log and forgiving experience when I chose the difficulty level to reflect that. I don't have time to play it often and therefore got totally lost what I have to do and where. It also does the same mistake Divinity 2 does: Resurrection scrolls are way to expensive to be the only option to resurrect your characters while always having not enough money, if you intend not to steal from everywhere. The area surrounding the starting town is also about 3-2 level higher, which makes it impossible for my group to advance. I have no idea where to get the missing levels and no idea how to continue with the main quest. I could search everywhere for the character I need, but again, I don't have the time. A quest log is the bar minimum an RPG with this complexity should have, and it doesn't. As in Divnity 2, they failed me to guide me where I need to be and what to do. Freedom and exploration is great but not if a mistep from that unknown path kills your group.
