I made the mistake of pre-ordering Cyberpunk 2077 based on the hype. I tried it very briefly and shelved it for a year and a half. Since update 1.5 I have started playing it again. I have only seen two significant bugs since. The first involved a required early quest where you could not talk to the person to progress. Nothing I did worked except for loading a previous save. The second bug was worse. It was after the 1.52 patch and I had some issue where everything I did would crash the game. As a last resort I uninstalled and reinstalled and that seemed to work and my saves were still there. With those issues aside the game story is great. The progression has a sense of urgency but you can stray off the main path without issue. Initially the city is kind of overwhelming with much of it looking the same and the only thing to do is to follow your quest markers. As you spend more time in the game though the different regions seem to take more shape and landmarks start becoming recognizable. Getting around by vehicle sucks. As driving in this game is atrocious at least on PC. Shifting the camera to 3rd person helps somewhat but this is definitely not the games highlighted functionality. Combat is enjoyable enough though I am not great at this kind of thing and ran the game on easy. Ultimately I probably could bump it up a notch after some practice but this game for me is all about an interactive story. Just about all 4 of the stars given are because I enjoyed the run through V's crazy story in Night City. I completed it in 64 hours with much of the side quests explored. I do have to say though all of my good will is burned up. I will not pre-order another CD Projekt Red title again. I will wait for the real reviews after release going forward.
