This game does exactly what it says on the tin. it is a fusion of Resident Evil, Silent Hill and even gives nods to games that came before them like Alone in the Dark etc. The story is similar in ways and builds atmospheric tension quite effectively. There is female nudity, whilst I didn't buy it for that reason specifically - being an old perve I enjoy it none the less! The themes are very dark and the horror is lovely so the developers are certainly not insulting your intelligence with censorship. The controls are tank controls but somewhat modernized - it didn't bother me one bit and I actually enjoy it. Graphics look amazing to me, especially since I am still using my old 2013 Dell Inspiron i7 multimedia laptop (because I am very nostalgic and haven't unpacked the new Alienware Ryzen desktop PC I have in my cupboard until this laptop breaks). In fact when I saw the screenshots on this very page, I didn't think this it would run - as this old laptop doesn't run anything well that looks like it uses the Unreal engine 4+. But I took a chance because the price is cheap, and I couldn't believe my eyes. It looks like PS5 graphics on this old laptop in some ways, the framerate, whilst not buttery smooth is very acceptable, just on smooth and playable. The environments look absolutely *gorgeous* including light and shadow rendering. I didn't understand how it could possibly run so good when other high end FPS run jagged on this beast. On further investigation it seems that the environments are apparently pre-rendered (but not a static picture at all - quite obvious 3D models that move), it doesn't look pre-rendered to me as the camera is dynamic and moves around each scene as you move. But I suppose it is in a modern sense - as between each room/area there is a short loading time - just like the old resident evil classics. The programmers are very technically skilled. This game is a lovely, random surprise. Even if you have an old rig, give this game a whirl.
This is quite fun and playable. I think it was worth the $$$. Only a few hours in and I am still enjoying it. It is essentially a physics puzzler in space with a hilariously entertaining story line. I have given the five starts for the entertaining story line and comedy themes. Without the story, I'd give it around 4 stars. Thank you for releasing on GOG developer!
I have about ~279 purchased games in my Gog library, and this is only my third review. I felt compelled to review this game because it is brilliantly original and this is coming from an early 40's gaming veteran, started playing in the C64 era as a wee nipper. This is the most original game I have played for at least 10 years, and the best game I have played for the past 3 years. It is a highly entertaining comedy adventure that is difficult to categorize beyond that, although I think other reviewers have described it better than I, so I am not going to re-invent the wheel - just wanted to add my 5 star rating to the total. If you watch the trailer video, and enjoy it - buy it and play it. That is my advice. I have just finished it, and will immediately start playing it again tonight, just fantastic. I think it is worth spruiking to non-gamer friends also, to get more people into the art form.
This game never ceases to amaze. I have never seen such novel interactive interfaces use to tell a story in a video game before. The pacing changes significantly throughout the game also, but I won't elaborate to avoid spoilers. The first two thirds of the game I was loving the story but after it becomes clearer to what is occurring I was slightly annoyed, I dislike that kind of plot (once again won't elaborate), so I knocked one star off. None the less, I think I have witnessed an evolution and advancing of the video game medium, I know that is a strong statement but it is truly a unique game. If you enjoy the themes in the trailer - you will enjoy this game, it's a bargain.
What can I say, it's extremely fresh a lot of fun and it has a great story so far. This is exactly the kind of game that attracts me to GOG and independent games. The gameplay is a strange mixture of 2D platform, mini games and adventure, done in a very unique way. It's actually quite hard to categorize. If you want something new - give it a whirl. Oh yeah, runs perfect on a circa 2013 Dell multimedia laptop.
