This is a review written as the game is in early access. TLDR: Good game, but a bit slow to show its strengths. Watch a tutorial on the Geoscape layer, since I think that might make or break your experience in regards to the beginning part of the game. (Doomsday meter) Many complain about the doomsday meter and I must say that it has not affected me at all, that is not to say its not a valid consern just not something to personally affect me. Overall the gameplay is similar to the first one, with some improvements. I have been enjoying myself imensely, but it did take me about 3 - 5 hours before I felt it clicked for me, I was kind of forcing myself since I know I enjoy these types of games, I am not sure what its missing in the beginning parts, maybe understanding of everything you can do in the Geoscape layer, or simply due to it being ages since I last played these type of games. Everything is subjective so you will know yourself if you like these kind of games, it reminds me of X-COM from the early 90s which in my mind is a good thing.
