I bought the Save the world edition on gog, because I really wanted to support the devs and I love that they donate 10% of the revenues of this edition to the children's charity "Plan International". Great game, great story, sometimes I stand there a bit lost and do not know what to do and the hint system is not at all that helpfull. The game is a point and click adventure in which you solve a mystery around Tina a nine year old girl and her guardian robot SAM-53. The puzzles are not too hard and the art style is amazingly done. If you like charming dark cyberpunk worlds this is a game for you.
This DLC adds not more than about 3hours of game time to the main game. This DLC is really short and adds not much content wise. You get unlimited stamina, and postcard sniffer enhancemnent to find all postcards, boots for walking underwater and the abulity to survive some toxic gas and all your tasks are straightforward, there is no real incentive to explore like in the maingame. Should you buy the DLC? If you really enjoyed the maingame - YES. Should you buy the DLC for its asking price of 7.99€? NO. Get it on sale, there is not enough content for me to justify the price. DRM free: Other reviews state there is a prompt that warns you that you "Failed to login to gog online services. Continuing may mean playing without access to purchased add-ons." I never encountered this prompt. I even completley disconnected my PC from the internet and launched and played the game in version 1.09 and never encountered said prompt. If I ever encounter this prompt I will updated my review. If anyone can tell me how they produced this prompt I would be highly interested in knowing!
Bought this game from GOG and its DLC Hot Garbage (separate review to the DLC there) and I played it on version 1.09. I liked the story, art style and most importantly humour of the game so why do I still do not recommend it to buy on full price? 1. The game was a store exclusive (Epic store) for 1 year. I do not support exclusive titles with full price money a year later sorry. 2. It's a bit short imo. 3. You need to like the humour of the game or it will drive you nuts. Don't take you or the game too serious - the game won't either. The good stuff: Its a nice exploration game, with an cool environment and some fun gameplay elements. DRM free: The game never prompted me to log in into GOG online services. I even disconnected completely from the internet and launched the game. No prompt to login in anywhere so I don't know what the other review is about. I couldn't replicate the prompt on my own. If I ever get such a prompt, I will update this review!
This game starts slow, with a bunch of cut scenes and a lot of time to get the hang of how controls work. In this time not much is happening gameplay wise, as others say in the first hour or so you just run around and pick up objects. The interesting split screen concept becomes an gameplay mechanic after you got into the Niwa Hotel, before its just used in cutscenes. And i think its quite an innovative use of it. I also enjoy the story, it starts out slow but takes up some oace later on, I am hooked solving this mystery and exploring the material and spirit world at the same time. And be aware, there is something in this hotel that you should definatly hide from! So far this game is without stupid jump scares and I love this kind of subtle horror. And hey the music oh god the music is sooo good. Visually this game is stunning besides the character model which feels a lit less polished than the rest of the stunning scenery and the controls are better with an controler. The character comments too much on everything, however thats all negative I can say. Facit: If you like third person, fixed camera angle, subtle horror games, with an mystery story pick it up.
This game reminds me why I love to support indie devs. The gameplay is essentially a big memory game. Your choices influence your journey and your ending. It is fun but also makes you pause and think of your actions and what consequences you just caused. Worth a buy even at full price!
If you like RPG Adevnture games, if you like fantasy worlds. if you are a fan of The Witcher books or the Netflix show yes than this is the game for you! It is still in 2021 one of the best RPGs you can play. IMPORTANT: When you buy the GOTY edition both expansions are included! So if you don't own the witcher yet get this edition.
