Arkham Horror: Mother's Embrace

Ok but not amazing

The story keeps me hooked and going so far. The gameplay is fine, the combat is mediocre so far. I recommend playing it with controller not mouse and keyboard. The graphics are low end but thats just a minor issue for me. The movement is... really slow or slow (move fast button is a move not sooo slow button in reality) It is a solid 3 star from me, because the story keeps me playing. The rest is 2.5 stars so far for me. There are simple better turnbase combat, detective, mystery and role playing games out there. My advice, watch some gameplay before you buy if you are unsure about this one.

Mutropolis

An 100% indie point and click adventure

An 100% point and click adventure with charm. I played Mutropolis till the end, before I wrote this review. I thought it is only fair to judge it as I finished it. The plus: I like the artstyle, the humor of the game is fun at some points but not outstanding to me. The story is engaging and kept me playing. The gameplay is point and click not much to say about that. However, the game does not a good job in hinting at what you will need to do with some of the items. So beware you can find yourself stuck for quite a time trying to figure out what to do. This is the biggest negative point I have to say. If it wasn't for an indie title, the fact that two people worked on the game, and that this is their first game they ever made I would give the game 3 stars. But taking that all into account its a solid 4 stars from me. The soundtrack is ok but can get annoying at some point (especially when you are stuck and would love to know what to do but all you can do is try and error). I am all for supporting small indie games. This is definatly a enjoyable title, with some detective work, an archeological mystery, some rouge gods and cute robots. Give it a try, and later when there are some guides for the game available, the lenghts of the game can be cut short and it is definatly a good play, worth your time.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm - Deluxe Edition

Good prequel

Deck Nine delivered a good prequel to Dontnod's game Life is Strange. It is smaller (only 3 episodes instead of 5, not counting the bonus episode). The Bonus episode is a sweet touching little episode made for fans of the first game. It is not mandatory that you have played Life is Strange to enjoy the 3 story episodes, but it is highly recommended. Other reviews mentioned technical issues with launching the game in combination with the bonus episode. This is not an issue anymore, you can play the game and the bonus episode just fine. If you enjoy slow paced story games and especially if you enjoyed the first Life is Strange you will like this one too.

Life is Strange: Complete Season

I loved it

First of all this is not a game, it is more like an animated film where you can make choices to alter the outcome and I loved that! I enjoyed the first 4 episodes so much I could not stop playing it. Best to play this, is to go into it without knowing anything and just let the story play out. Episode 5 (the last episode) wasn't a bad episode by any means, it just felt weaker to me than the episodes before, and the end (without spoilering to much) let you feel unsatisfied about some things you did early in game. Nevertheless it has great story, great music, great voice acting. Pick it up if you like storygames.

Little Nightmares II

Good Sequel to an amazing first game

If you havent played Little Nightmares I, now is a good time to pick it up since it is on sale for 4€ at the moment and it is a good start into the Little Nightmares world. After playing Little Nightmares I you can even more appreciate the step up they did in Little Nightmares II. To me it was even more creepy than the first one. I loved it. Bought it on launch, finished it today. It is short but a bit longer than the first 1. Art, gameplay and music are again done perfectly. Only complaint is the sometimes a bit clunky "combat system", and the precise flashlight usage (which is crucial in some parts of the game - no spoiler) is not that easy with mouse and keyboard. But besides that it is amazing. If you enjoyed the first one, you will love the second one. It does everything at least as good as the first one, some things like the atmosphere is nailed down even better imo.
