I bought this game the day it came out all those years ago in November 1996, and have since played untold hours of it. Over the years -- especially back in those early days before I had a busier life -- my friends and I have had about a dozen Master of Orion 2 LAN parties, and I've spread the play of this game even to two of my (now adult) sons, one of whom has now spread it to his friends. Aside from the obviously dated graphics, this game is close to a perfect experience, offering hours of trip-down-memory-lane fun and replayability.
