Cyberpunk 2077

First CDPR game for me - Reality check

I have never played any of the Witchers or any other CDPR title. I purchased Cyberpunk 2077 from GOG for two reasons: 1. I have a powerful rig with a stunning 3440 x 1440 monitor and I like sprawling beatiful games in huge worlds. 2. I'm sick of Steam sticking it to Devs and refused to pad their pockets any more. What CDPR has SO FAR done to console purchasers is abhorrent. I almost purchased this on PS5 just to compare. I wouldn't dare purchase it on PS4 or Xbox One. This game should not have been sold to console players withough testing and a disclaimer that on last gen consoles it will barely run at 20FPS Currently, I'm building a new rig and look forward to seeing how Cyberpunk looks on it once it is done. Currently I am about 18hrs in to playing it on my current PC which is a custom closed loop water cooled i9 9900k overclocked w/a 2080ti overclocked and watercooled as well. Utilizing Geforce Experience to optimize the games graphics settings it is a beautiful game and I generally play around 70FPS which isn't bad. Mind you, my monitor will do more than double that. So that part is disappointing. Like other reviews have stated - the KB/Mouse first person experience isn't the best. On a few missions I pulled out a Scuf controller to not break my kb over my knee due to aim stabilization issues. Driving vehicles is very wooden, to the point where PUGB feels like you're playing F1 2020 by comparison. I've never been a big RPG player in 40 years of gaming, but so far this game has drawn me in. Based on the fact that the development budget has already been met - it is my sincere hope that they are working overtime to improve the game, fix bugs (like dying when crouched and rubbing certain objectsZ), better optimize the graphical experience and stop selling the fantasy that this enormous beautiful game will run on last gen consoles. Get to work and make Cyberpunk 2077 what it's capable of being. 4 Stars is for my experience and for potential.
