Cyberpunk 2077

Broken trash

First time I played this, I didn't like it and I ragequit on a particularly bad mission. But I wanted to be fair and give the game another chance, after the patches and the updates. Welp, it doesn't deserve that second chance because one: it made me use an unnecessary launcher, for which I had to input a code sent by email, adding an extra step to my attempt to play this again. And two: it shows the splash screen and then just a black screen. I've tried everything to make this work but it just won't. So, I'll be blunt: fuck this game. I don't care what CD Project Red has done with the likes of Witcher 3 and their other successful games, selling a title broken like this one should be considered a crime. It's the kind of bullshit that convinces me that modern gaming is worthless, with every single publishing companies trying to make the gaming experience as bad as possible while charging ridiculous prices for games that aren't even worth half of their retail price. Shame on the devs for peddling this garbage, you guys put more effort on making this game a pain than you did for making it, well, a game.

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded

Short but sweet game, fine remaster

It's a damn shame the rest of the series didn't get the remake treatment because this is the most palatable way to play Leisure Suit Larry. Anyway, this is my first Larry experience and though the game is short and I can't play a point'n'click game without a walkthrough, I enjoyed my time with this one. Larry is a lovable loser who has his own unique charm and I wish I could play the rest of the series with those nice HD graphics. Now, to be honest, I think some of the sprites look like they're from some of those flash porn games (the M and F games, you can guess the letters), but the close-up are fantastic. I wish they had put them in the wallpapers extras because the only wallpapers is the same picture at different resolutions. As for the game itself, it's pretty good, the puzzles aren't too obtuse but the game is a bit on the short side. I used a walkthrough whenever I was stuck and counting a restart and some amount of time spent making money at the casino, it took me five hours to beat the game. The adult content is mostly limited to the dialogue, although you get a titillating bonus at the end of the game if you use the bubble valve from the hot tub 10 times. Other than that, no nudity to speak of, but the game's real focus is the humor anyway, there are some funny bits here and there as well as some funny Easter Eggs. All around, a fun experience. Overall, it's a solid effort that made me want some more, the graphics are beautiful and the interface works well. Although the raunchy, erotic themes might hurt modern sensibilities, people who don't take this game too seriously will have a fun time. I hope that someday, Al Lowe remakes the rest of the series, as I'll probably find them easier to enjoy with a modern touch. But for now, I recommend this one, just get it on sale, as it's a very short game.

realMyst: Masterpiece Edition

Dull and frustrating

Well, I'll be pretty much taking a dump on people's nostalgia but I don't get why "Myst" is considered such a great classic. I've just played this for the first time, so there's no rose-colored glasses clouding my perception of this game. simply put, it's a frustrating experience. The puzzles are far from intuitive and I could only get so far by using this version in-game hints, which makes me wonder how people managed to get through this back when it was released? There's nothing to let you know what and where things are, I needed the hints just to find the "forechamber", which is a small, not that obvious door to your left when you start. And that forechamber was hinted by a note that was found next to an unrelated building! And so far it looks like that's how the rest of the game is; find some obscure clue, experiment with objects whose purpose is not clear, flip a switch or open a door to an area with some interactable objects that doesn't do anything clear ... I don't mind making my brain work but when I have to take notes and use hints constantly to progress, maybe this is a sign that it's way too difficult. I feel like I'm in the dark, fumbling about in the hope of getting somewhere. After half an hour I don't feel I've accomplished much in this game. Again, I'm let down by a game's great reputation that overshadows an experience that might have been incredible back in its time, but is far from being a masterpiece. Nostalgia doesn'T make a game great and this is a shiny example of that.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Terrible

I would elaborate on the entirety of the game if I could, unfortunately, I can't. why? The combat. I've never seen such a messy and unresponsive combat system, I got creamed by some drunkard who has no trouble blocking, punching and somehow manages to grab Henry's arm and knee him in the face, a move I never managed to pull off. The graphics are good but that's about the only good thing I can say about this cancer of a game, people complain that Skyrim's combat sucks but at least it works. Maybe there's a wonderful game behind Kingdom Comes, maybe there's a good story and interesting places to explore but I'll never see them because of the clunky combat. Unless you like fidgeting around with a mouse in approximate attempts at punching a drunkard that constantly blocks and counters every attempt to hit him, then go nuts and waste your hard-earned money on this junk. Otherwise, stick to actual good RPGs, like Mount & Blade or something.
