I'm not sure I could write a more glowing review than some of the ones I've seen elsewhere. This is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played and I did it in single player. You don't need a bunch of friends to enjoy this gem. This is well worth the investment.
All my experiences of SimCity 2000 SE were on the Mac and until I installed the Windows version I didn't realise how spoiled I was with this game. The Mac release made huge improvements in small ways. None of the drop down menus needed to be held down. The music was improved. The camera was stretched, instead it just showed you more of the map on bigger screens. So you can imagine my disappointment when I run the DOS version on Windows 8 to find everything stretched out, the menus aren't as responsive and the music a little sad. Great game, but for those buying this on Windows, I'd recommend keeping this game in your nostalgia file, because trust me when I say it's better that way.
