Is this a great RPG game on its own, no. The character building is simple, the skill system very limited. However, I have the Fabled Lands books, and as an adaption of the books I think the game is actually a really well done adaption. They have not followed the books 100% e.g. the hex-gonal battle system, but the places where they do separate is to make it a better computer game and I think they have succeeded in that. The Fablled lands books are unique in that they are built in as an expandable world, where each book opens up a new region of the world.
